The Nantucket Chocolatiers have been bringing you Sweet Inspirations since 1981–a chocolate landmark both on Nantucket and globally online at NantucketChocolate.com. .
You will have an opportunity to see chocolate artisans at their work and will be greeted with a complimentary tasting of the Nantucket Chocolatier’s famous Cranberry Creations™ Chocolates.
Residents of Nantucket and winners of numerous awards, their success is based on dynamic creativity, strong business ethics, hard work, excellence in product quality and customer service, and building a family of devoted employees.
Recently, John summed it up this way:
After 30 years, Kathy and I continue to enjoy operating Sweet Inspirations in the Nantucket community, mentoring a diverse staff and visiting with old and new friends from near and far. Nantucket Island, its residents, and international visitors provide us an endless inspiration for future unique creations.
We want all of our guests to feel welcome and at home among the sweet aromas, comforting environment, friendly staff and traditional gatherings of happy people!
What We've Been Up to for these 38 Years!
Over Thirty-eight years ago, Kathy and John thoughtfully named their new artisan chocolate business Sweet Inspirations of Nantucket. They were inspired by a love for the Island, its people, visitors, and natural beauty. Coupling these heartfelt interests with their chocolate and business heritage led them to create a world-class artisan chocolatier.
Through the past three decades, new inspirations and artisanship continued with international visitors and a diverse staff providing a wonderful mix of global ideas, abilities, and distinctive creations. Early creations included the elegantly simple chocolate Nantucket scallop shells, pecan and caramel Islands, the original Cranberry Creations™ chocolate covered cranberries, the Nancy Chase Nantucket Mint, and the extraordinary Cranberry Cheesecake truffle. During the last 20 years, an extensive collection of unique limited edition gift tins were created from collaborative efforts with local artist Barbara Capizzo and skilled American Tinsmiths. Memorable international chocolate inspirations include the Bermuda Dark n’ Stormy and Swedish Glugg Truffles. Recent product developments with the team of Nantucket Chocolatiers have included the Cranberry Caramel with Sea Salt, the new Sea Mist™ Almonds, and of course the most famous artisan piece, Coco the Whale™ truffles.
The artisan style reflects a classic old-world guild where a close skilled team prepares small batches using the best ingredients to create fresh, quality controlled, magnificent looking, and great tasting chocolates. From hand-whisking the fresh cream and chocolate ganaches, carefully cutting cranberry bark squares, funneling old fashioned non-pareils or warm buttery caramel, to piping fine decorative lines, the chocolate artisans work with precision and pride. Sweet Inspirations is pleased to lead a select team of chocolatiers, from apprentices to graduates of Johnson & Wales and Culinary Institute of America, in their common interest of creating excellence.
Say "Hi" to the Nantucket Chocolatiers
Robert joined the Nantucket Chocolatier team over two decades ago.
Robert was classically trained at the lauded Culinary Institute of America, and has brought his talents to restaurants, bakeries and private catering services of sizes both large and intimate. He is a true entrepreneur, having run his own successful bakery on the North Shore of Boston. He has studied chocolate and confections in Europe to add to his experience and knowledge.

John & Kathy
John & Kathy, co-founders and the original chocolatiers of NantucketChocolate.com, each learned their corporate business wisdom in cosmopolitan Boston. Choosing an alternate path back in 1980, they found themselves on Nantucket Island starting the quaint chocolate shop that has now become NantucketChocolate.com 38 years on!
Thank you for visiting!
